Nhat Mai Nguyen is a Research Fellow at the Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University (ANU), and serves as the Water Justice Hub Manager. She holds a PhD and Master’s in Economics from ANU, supported by Endeavour Leadership and Australia Awards scholarships. Her expertise spans water governance, food security, international trade, environmental economics, and economic growth. Formerly a policymaker at Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment, she specializes in policy design and implementation for sustainable development.
Education: PhD in Economics (ANU), Master’s in International and Development Economics (ANU). Professional Experience: Over a decade in Vietnam’s public sector, managing public and private sector projects. Research Interests: Focus on equitable water resource management, climate-resilient food systems, and trade policy impacts on developing economies.
Her publications explore transboundary water justice, non-market valuation of Indigenous values, and Vietnam’s trade dynamics. Awards include Endeavour Leadership and Australia Awards scholarships. She leads interdisciplinary projects bridging policy, art, and community engagement for sustainable development. Current roles include managing the Water Justice Hub to advance inclusive water governance frameworks globally.
