Neşe ŞEKERCİ is a Lecturer in the Child Development Department at Üsküdar University's Faculty of Health Sciences. She joined the university in 2012 and previously held academic roles at Istanbul Kavram Vocational School (2010-2012) and Istanbul University (1995-2010), where she served as Deputy Director of Health Sciences. Her educational background includes a Bachelor's in Nursing from Hacettepe University (1985) and a Master's in Developmental Neurology from Istanbul University (1990), focusing on pediatric nursing care for cerebral palsy.
Her research interests center on Child Development, Pediatric Health, and Early Childhood Education, with emphasis on pandemic impacts on children's psychosocial well-being, gender socialization in play, and practical interventions for infant sleep disorders. Recent work explores educational adaptations during health crises and parental strategies in child-rearing.
ŞEKERCİ has led projects including 'Birlikte Yaşayabilecek Miyiz?' (2019) and 'Improving Knowledge and Skills of Care Providers at Day Care Centers' (2020), focusing on professional childcare training. She actively participates in academic committees, including Early Child Development Working Groups and student advising programs.
