Nevin Mehmet serves as a Senior Lecturer in Public Health and Wellbeing and Deputy Head of School for Human Sciences at the University of Greenwich's School of Human Sciences, part of the Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences. Joining in 2005, she has significantly contributed to the development of health and wellbeing programs, leveraging prior clinical experience as an Aromatherapist in primary care to foster industry connections for student work placements.
Her academic credentials include an MA in Medical Ethics and Law (2012), which underpins her research in healthcare ethics. Previously, she held roles as Programme Leader for BSc Health and Well-Being (2011-2015) and Associate Programme Leader for BSc Health and Combined Studies (2008-2011), and was Senior Lecturer in Complementary Therapies (2005-2008).
Dr. Mehmet's research explores the integration of healthcare ethics into health, paramedic, and public health curricula, alongside investigations into wellbeing frameworks and public health education. Her work emphasizes practical applications, aiming to enhance ethical decision-making in healthcare settings and promote community wellbeing through innovative educational strategies.
As the university's link tutor for UK partner colleges, she oversees quality assurance for Greenwich awards. Her teaching portfolio includes Applied Ethics for Health & Public Health and Principles of Wellbeing, where she connects theoretical concepts with real-world public health challenges.
