Nevena Varnica is a full professor at the Faculty of Philology, University of Novi Sad. She teaches courses on Renaissance and Baroque Literature, History of Serbian Culture, Stylistics (Serbian), and doctoral-level research on Women in the literature and culture of old Dubrovnik.

- Teaching Experience: Serbian language lecturer at Western University in Timisoara (2000-2002), trainee assistant at University of Novi Sad (2003)
Her research focuses on Dubrovnik literature (particularly Stanca Marin Držić's works), Renaissance/Baroque literature, old Serbian literature, cultural history, and avant-garde movements. Publications analyze genre characteristics, epistolary traditions, and cultural codes across Serbian and Slavic contexts.
Recent publications trend toward comparative cultural analysis of Dalmatian Renaissance works, medieval literature scholarship, and philosophical explorations of paradox in Serbian prose. Her 2015 co-authored work examines gender representation in Dubrovnik's historical context.
