معرفی
Nevan Krogan is a Professor at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), where he leads the Krogan Lab. His research focuses on developing systematic proteomic and genetic approaches to study complex biological problems in cancer, infectious diseases, and psychiatric disorders. He serves as Principal or Co-Principal Investigator on multiple NIH-funded grants, including programs on HIV, TB, and SARS-CoV-2.
Education
- BS in Chemistry, University of Regina (1997)
- MSc in Biochemistry, University of Regina (1999)
- PhD in Medical Genetics, University of Toronto (2005)
Research Focus
Krogan's lab integrates proteomics, genetics, and systems biology to analyze:
- Host-pathogen interactions in HIV, Ebola, and coronaviruses
- Protein interaction networks in cancer systems biology
- Neurodegenerative mechanisms linked to apoE4 and tau
- CRISPR-based functional genomics in stem cells
- Antiviral therapeutic targets like Mac1 hydrolase
Scientific Awards
- Alumni Crowning Achievement Award, University of Regina (2014)
- Keck Distinguished Young Scholar (2012)
- Searle Scholar (2009-2014)
- Top 25 authors in molecular biology & genetics (2002-2006)
Grants & Collaborations
Krogan leads the QCRG Pandemic Response Program and Cancer Cell Map Initiative v2.0, both NIH-funded. He co-leads the Host-Pathogen Mapping Initiative and HARC Center, while collaborating on projects related to influenza, dengue, and tuberculosis.
