Neus Visa is a Professor at Stockholm University, working in the Department of Molecular Biosciences, The Wenner-Gren Institute. Her research focuses on understanding the mechanisms by which RNA and RNA degradation by the exosome contribute to chromatin regulation, gene expression and genome integrity.
Her research interests include:
- RNA Biology
- Chromatin Regulation
- Gene Expression
- Genome Integrity
- DNA Repair
- Molecular Biology
Professor Visa leads "Group Visa" which currently focuses on two major research projects:
- "The exosome: roles in chromatin regulation and DNA repair" - which aims at understanding the molecular mechanisms by which degradation of ncRNAs by the exosome contributes to the organization of the genome and to efficient DNA repair.
- "Roles of snoRNAs in chromatin organization, gene expression and DNA repair" - which investigates the molecular mechanisms by which snoRNAs regulate chromatin accessibility, gene expression and DNA repair.
