Prof. Nesrin Erçelen is a Professor in the Department of Medical Genetics at Uskudar School of Medicine, Uskudar University. She holds a Medical Degree from Hacettepe University (1993) and specialized in Medical Biology and Genetics at Gazi University (2000). She became an Associate Professor in 2015 and a Professor in 2021. Her career includes fellowships at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and the Reproductive Genetics Institute in Chicago, and she pioneered stem cell and GMP labs in Turkey. She has served as Medical Director at multiple institutions including the American Hospital Genetics Center and Geneis Genetic System Solutions. Her research focuses on regenerative medicine, stem cell therapies, and genomic diagnostics.

Her studies investigate mesenchymal stem cell applications for stroke and COVID-19 recovery, emphasizing translational research and personalized healthcare. She has contributed to foundational work in Turkey's stem cell licensing and diagnostic technologies.
Current Projects: Leading an animated film project to visually explain stem cell biology for educational purposes (TÜBİTAK-funded, 2024).
Teaching: Teaches advanced courses in genetic disease diagnosis, regenerative medicine, and project management at both undergraduate and doctoral levels.
