Nermin Vehabovic is an Assistant Professor of Education at the Dr. Jo Watts Williams School of Education, Elon University. Her work bridges Literacy/Teacher Education, multi/translingual pedagogy, and humanizing, justice-centered practices for refugee-background communities. She founded the Welcome New Neighbor initiative, connecting teacher candidates with displaced families in North Carolina.

Her recent publications highlight refugee-background education, translanguaging, and humanizing research methodologies. She has received multiple grants for community-based learning, diversity initiatives, and refugee resettlement projects.
