Nelson P. Repenning

Nelson P. Repenning is the Faculty Director of the MIT Leadership Center and the School of Management Distinguished Professor of System Dynamics and Organization Studies at MIT Sloan School of Management. His research focuses on organizational effectiveness, knowledge work optimization, and dynamic management systems. He holds a BA in Economics from Colorado College and a PhD in Operations Management and System Dynamics from MIT.

Repenning’s work addresses challenges in organizational capability development, safety practices, and strategic execution. He co-authored the forthcoming book *There Has Got to Be a Better Way* (2025) and is a partner at ShiftGear Work Design. His awards include the Jay Wright Forrester Award (2003) and the Jamieson Prize for Excellence in Teaching (2011).
