Nellie Mckenzie

Dr. Nellie Mckenzie is a Board Certified Registered Nurse and Pharmacist with over 15 years of clinical experience in nursing and pharmacy. Currently teaching at Washington Adventist University, she holds dual appointments in the Edyth T. James Department of Nursing and Department of Biology.

• BS in Biology from Atlantic Union College

Her research focuses on Molecular Biology and Clinical Pharmacy, particularly examining protein synthesis in developmental biology using purple sea urchins as a model organism, and clinical research on medication use for congestive heart failure exacerbation in acute care settings. Current collaborative work with PepVax, Inc. explores peptide vaccine development for cancer treatment.

Dr. McKenzie has taught at multiple institutions including Andrews University, California State University San Bernardino, and Loma Linda University. She is actively involved in professional associations such as the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), Sigma Theta Tau International, and Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society.
