Idamae Jenkins serves as Associate Professor and Clinical Coordinator in the Radiologic Sciences & Imaging program at Kettering College, a position she has held since 2017. As both faculty member and alumna (having earned her Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology from the institution in 2002), she uniquely bridges institutional legacy with contemporary clinical education.
Her academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Andrews University and a Master's degree in Physical Education from Northern Arizona University. These qualifications complement her 15-year pre-academic career as an x-ray technologist, Informatics manager, and orthopedic technician in Dayton-area healthcare facilities.
Professor Jenkins' expertise centers on Radiologic Sciences and Medical Imaging education, with specialized focus on clinical training methodologies. She champions hands-on learning as essential for developing competent radiologic technologists, emphasizing that practical application reinforces theoretical knowledge through supervised clinical experiences.
In her dual role as educator and Clinical Coordinator, she oversees student rotations, ensures clinical competency development, and maintains program standards. Her industry experience directly informs curriculum design, particularly in bridging classroom theory with real-world imaging practice.
