Neil Meredith is a Professor of Economics and the Dana Professor of Business at West Texas A&M University's Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business, where he also serves as Director of Continuous Improvement. He joined the university in 2011 after completing his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Georgia and has progressed through the academic ranks to his current position.
Dr. Meredith earned his educational credentials from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (B.A. in Economics/Mathematics, 2006) and the University of Georgia (Ph.D. in Economics, 2011). He has enhanced his professional qualifications with a Microcredential Certificate in Inclusive Teaching for Equitable Learning (2022) and a Microcredential Certificate in Grant Writing (2024), demonstrating his commitment to continuous professional development.
His research focuses primarily on health economics, with specific interests in vaccine economics, health insurance markets, and the cost-effectiveness of medical interventions. He also conducts research in applied microeconomics, examining the relationship between religiosity and economic outcomes. His publication record shows consistent productivity with recent work in 2022-2023, spanning journals from the Eastern Economic Journal to Preventive Medicine Reports. His research demonstrates both theoretical rigor and practical policy relevance, particularly in health economics.
Dr. Meredith's awards include the Professional Service Excellence Award (2014), Outstanding Faculty Apple Polishing awards (2015, 2016), and the Swift Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching (2011).
