Neil Martin is a Senior Digital Curriculum Designer at the University of Southern Queensland's Academic Affairs Administration, affiliated with the Institute for Resilient Regions. He holds a PhD in Education from USQ and a BSc (Hons) from Aston University. His work focuses on integrating technology into education, particularly through virtual reality, MOOCs, and STEM initiatives. He has supervised multiple doctoral and master's students in areas like social work education, climate risk management, and educational psychology.
Research interests include self-determination theory in online learning, immersive technologies for skill development, and equitable access to education. His contributions span academic publications on topics such as virtual reality applications in social work, STEM club effectiveness, and holistic support programs for neurodiverse students.
Dr. Martin has co-authored over 30 papers and presented at international conferences like ASCILITE and the Digital Rural Futures Conference. He actively engages in interdisciplinary projects addressing climate adaptation and educational innovation, leveraging virtual worlds for real-world problem solving.
