Neil Jennings

Neil Jennings is the Partnership Development Manager at the Grantham Institute for Climate Change within Imperial College London’s Faculty of Natural Sciences. He specializes in strategic partnerships between academia, policy-makers, and NGOs, focusing on the co-benefits of climate action. His work emphasizes how climate policies can drive cleaner, greener, and fairer societal outcomes while informing decision-making processes. Neil coordinates cross-disciplinary initiatives on climate action’s health benefits and leads projects like the Place-based Climate Action Network, producing influential reports (e.g., 2023/2024/2025 surveys on public perceptions). He co-founded the Climate Cares Centre, addressing mental health impacts of climate crises, and contributed to global dialogues via the Connecting Climate Minds initiative.

Neil’s research spans public health, human geography, policy administration, and cognitive sciences. Prior to Imperial, he managed the Student Switch Off campaign at NUS, winning awards and engaging over a million students. He holds a PhD from the Tyndall Centre (University of East Anglia), an MSc from UCL, and a BA from Cambridge.

His advisory roles include the Reach Foundation (charity trustee) and the Tyndall Centre’s legacy projects. Grants include Wellcome Trust funding for mental health/climate change dialogues and Place-based Climate Action Network support.
