Neil Gordon Davey is a Research Fellow at the Department of Art, Design & Drama, Faculty of Technology, Art & Design at Oslo Metropolitan University. He is a 3rd-year PhD candidate in the Programme for Innovation for Sustainability, focusing on energy transitions through arts-based methods like participatory photography and digital storytelling. His work emphasizes inclusive approaches to energy infrastructure planning in remote areas such as the Orkney Islands and sub-Saharan Africa.
Education: Currently pursuing a PhD in Innovation for Sustainability at OsloMet.
Research Interests: Neil’s interdisciplinary research integrates visual anthropology with energy social science to address socioeconomic disparities and environmental challenges. He employs participatory visual methods to empower communities in sharing their experiences with energy development and climate adaptation. Key themes include post-carbon futures, community storytelling, and participatory methodologies in post-conflict and rural settings.
