Negar Mehr is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Illinois, affiliated with the Department of Aerospace Engineering in the College of Engineering. She holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (2013) and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley (2019). Prior to her current role, she served as a Postdoctoral Scholar in Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University (2020).
Her research focuses on developing control algorithms for autonomous systems, emphasizing safe and intelligent interactions between autonomous systems and humans. Key research areas include Robotics, Control Theory, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Dynamical Systems, and Space Systems. She has received notable awards such as the NSF CAREER Award (2022) and the IEEE ITSS Best Ph.D. Dissertation Award (2020).
Mehr teaches courses including Intro to Aerospace Engineering, Optimal Aerospace Systems, and Learning/Control for Multi-Agent Systems. Her work aligns with advancing control systems in dynamic environments and multi-agent coordination.
