Neena Samota is an Associate Professor in Criminology and Criminal Justice at St. Mary’s University, where she also serves as Programme Director for Criminology and Sociology. She previously held roles as a visiting lecturer at the University of Westminster and Policy and Research Manager at Nacro, a crime reduction charity. Her research focuses on racial disparities in policing, stop and search practices, and alternatives to criminal justice, with a strong emphasis on policy advocacy and community engagement.
