Neda Abbasi is a Lecturer in the School of Engineering and Technology at CQUniversity, Sydney Branch. She holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Architectural Engineering from the University of Tehran. Her research focuses on architecture pedagogy, educational environments, and library space evaluation. She has conducted extensive work on the role of school design in adolescent identity formation and pioneered the TEALS tool for evaluating academic library spaces.
Education:
- PhD, University of Melbourne (2006–2009): Thesis on school design’s impact on adolescent identity
- Master of Architectural Engineering, University of Tehran (1998–2005): Thesis on youth leisure spaces
Research Interests: Neda’s work bridges architecture, education, and psychology. She examines how physical spaces influence learning outcomes, teamwork dynamics, and youth development. Her projects include evaluating libraries (Deakin, UQ, University of Canberra) and redesigning homes for suicide prevention.
