Ndubueze L. Mbah is an Associate Professor of History at the University at Buffalo (SUNY Buffalo). He specializes in West African Atlantic history, focusing on labor systems, slavery, gender, and sexuality. His work bridges oral traditions, written records, and material culture to analyze historical transformations in West Africa from the 18th to 20th centuries.

Research Interests:
Dr. Mbah examines how African communities negotiated colonialism, abolitionism, and global systems through forged identities, migration networks, and resistance strategies. His current project explores Nigerian migrants' use of legal forgery to evade colonial control and secure freedom.
