Naïma Maggetti serves as a Researcher at the Maison de l'histoire, University of Geneva, a position held since October 2022. She concurrently acts as coordinator of the doctoral program in contemporary history at the Western Swiss University Conference (CUSO) since January 2020.
Her academic foundation includes a PhD from the University of Geneva (2020), with doctoral research examining the re-legitimization of the British imperial project during decolonization (1945-1957).
Dr. Maggetti's scholarly focus centers on the British colonial empire through critical analysis of:
- Imperial legitimacy mechanisms
- Colonial discourse formation
- Photographic representation in colonial contexts
Her work investigates how colonial powers maintained ideological control during post-WWII decolonization. As CUSO doctoral program coordinator, she shapes contemporary history scholarship across Western Swiss universities. Research was advanced through Swiss National Science Foundation support enabling a 2016-2017 visiting research position at King's College London.
At the Maison de l'histoire, she contributes to institutional research initiatives while advancing her expertise in 20th-century imperial history through archival and visual analysis methodologies.
