Martino Maggetti is a Full Professor in Regulatory Policies at the Institute of Political Studies (IEP) of the University of Lausanne (UNIL) since August 1, 2024. He previously served as an associate professor at UNIL (2014–2024) and worked as a researcher and lecturer at the University of Zurich (2009–2014). His research focuses on the rise of regulation as a governance mode, transformations of the State in multi-level governance, and methodological pluralism in multi-method research.

Maggetti's work examines independent regulators as political actors, the integration of public policies, and the impact of ecological and digital transitions on governance. He led the European TiGRE project (2020–2023) analyzing trust dynamics in finance, food safety, and data protection regulation, alongside four Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) grants and other national/international initiatives.
At UNIL, he teaches public policy and regulation in the Master's program in Public Policy and Management (PMP) and mixed methods in the Bachelor's program in Political Science. He directed the Institute of Political Studies (IEP) from 2022 to 2024 and contributed to research evaluation committees for SNSF projects.
Maggetti is affiliated with the Laboratory for the Analysis of Governance and Public Action in Europe (LAGAPE), advocating systematic and pluralist research strategies to advance regulatory and governance studies.
