Nawaf M.A. Mohammed serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences and Statistics at the University of Central Missouri within the College of Health, Science, and Technology, contributing to actuarial science education and research initiatives.
His academic foundation includes a Ph.D. in Mathematics from York University (Canada) specializing in Actuarial Science, with doctoral research examining risk allocation methodologies and dependence structures through the thesis "A dependence analysis within the context of risk allocations: Simplex compositions, the notion of counter-monotonicity and heavy-tailed distributions". He further holds a Master's degree in Mathematics from Central European University (Budapest, Hungary) and a dual Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Finance from the American University in Beirut (Lebanon).
Dr. Mohammed's research expertise centers on Actuarial Science, specifically investigating risk aggregation frameworks, probabilistic dependence modeling, and capital allocation mechanisms involving heavy-tailed distributions. His work bridges theoretical probability constructs with practical risk management applications in financial and insurance contexts, emphasizing the interplay between stochastic modeling and real-world risk mitigation strategies.
