Navraj Singh Ghaleigh is a Senior Lecturer in Climate Law at the University of Edinburgh's School of Law, where he has been since 2003. Previously, he was a barrister in London and a Lecturer at King's College London. His research focuses on the regulation of carbon dioxide removals (CDR) and climate constitutionalism, with interdisciplinary collaborations across law, geosciences, and finance. He leads major projects such as C-SINK Removals (€6M, EU-funded) and co-leads the £30M UKRI/NERC Greenhouse Gas Removal Hub.
Teaching includes modules like International Climate Change Law and Climate Change Litigation. He has supervised 14 PhD candidates, with ongoing supervision of four part-time students. His work engages with global institutions (e.g., UNFCCC, UK Supreme Court) and has advised bodies like the OECD and Climate Strategies. Ghaleigh's contributions span LexisNexis climate law content, parliamentary reports, and media commentary on COP negotiations and climate policy.
