معرفی
Nathaniel Green is an Associate Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Physical Science at Northeastern State University. His research focuses on engineered nanoparticle assemblies, specifically the photophysics of gold nanorod and dye-doped silica nanoparticle aggregates with applications in light harvesting and bio-imaging. He directs the Green Nano Lab (https://greennanolab.wixsite.com/nsuok) at the Broken Arrow campus.
Education:
- PhD in Organic Chemistry, University of Oklahoma, 2013
- BS in Biophysical Chemistry, University of Arkansas, 2008
Dr. Green's expertise spans nanotechnology, instrumental analysis, analytical chemistry, and organic chemistry. His current work investigates photophysical properties of nanoparticle aggregates for renewable energy applications and medical diagnostics. Research emphasizes tunable optical properties through engineered nanostructures and surface chemistry modifications.
Scientific Awards:
- AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow
Professional Activities: Dr. Green served as an AAAS Fellow at the U.S. Department of State addressing bioterrorism issues in West Africa and Afghanistan. Prior to NSU, he completed postdoctoral bionanotechnology research at Marshall University. His work integrates policy experience with laboratory research in nanomaterial design.
He leads the Green Nano Lab focusing on nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, with infrastructure for optical spectroscopy and nanomaterial fabrication.
