Nathaniel Eagan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Tufts University, part of the School of Engineering. His research focuses on sustainable catalytic processes for clean energy, fuels, and chemicals production from biomass. He holds a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BS from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Prior to joining Tufts, he conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard University and Tufts, exploring catalysis in dilute alloys and heterogeneous systems.
His professional activities include roles as a session chair at conferences, reviewer for journals, and committee member for diversity and curriculum development at Tufts. He teaches courses in reaction engineering, reactor design, and catalysis.
Research interests emphasize novel catalysts for sustainable fuel production, leveraging advanced synthesis techniques and characterization tools. His work bridges fundamental catalytic insights with practical applications in energy and environmental sustainability.
