معرفی
L. Nathan Tumey is an Associate Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Binghamton University's School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He also serves as Assistant Graduate Director. Prior to academia, he spent 15 years in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, contributing to drug discovery programs including 5HT2c agonists for obesity and IRAK4 inhibitors for rheumatoid arthritis. His research focuses on antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for cancer and autoimmune disorders, with expertise in bioconjugation, linker design, and immune-modulating payloads.
He holds a BS from King University and a PhD in Chemistry from Duke University (2001). His work emphasizes ADC technologies like legumain-cleavable linkers and site-specific conjugation, with applications in targeted therapy for leukemia, rhabdomyosarcoma, and inflammatory diseases. Tumey collaborates with biotech firms and ADC-related organizations, serving on scientific advisory boards.
His lab develops next-generation ADCs for immunological disorders and cancer, leveraging innovations in payload design and delivery mechanisms. Recent research includes TLR agonists, glucocorticoid conjugates, and ADC stability optimization. He has authored over 60 publications since 2000, spanning ADC design, protein kinase inhibitors, and antibacterial targets.
Grants and partnerships support his work, including collaborations on ADC development and lysosomal drug delivery. His educational contributions include mentoring graduate students and advancing interdisciplinary training in pharmaceutical sciences.
