Nathan E Schroeder

Nathan E Schroeder is an Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. He holds dual appointments in the Department of Crop Sciences and the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, with additional affiliations at the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology.

His research focuses on Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience, Neural & Genomic Bases of Behavior, and Neural Development. Current work investigates neurochemical mechanisms in nematodes, including neurotransmitter systems and neurotoxicological responses to agricultural chemicals.

Recent publications demonstrate interdisciplinary approaches combining neurophysiology, genomic analysis, and environmental science. His team employs spatial transcriptomics and immunohistochemical techniques to study neural control of parasitic behaviors and nematode responses to agrochemicals.
