Nathan C. Goldman

Nathan C. Goldman is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the Poole College of Management, North Carolina State University. His research and teaching focus on corporate taxation, tax policy, and capital markets. He contributes regularly to public discourse on tax issues through media interviews and expert commentary.

Goldman earned his Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management (2016), a Master's in Accounting from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School (2009), and a B.S. in Health Sciences from the University of Arizona. Prior to academia, he worked at Deloitte & Touche LLP in Charlotte, NC.

His research explores how tax laws influence corporate behavior, including employee location decisions, audit quality, and state-level fiscal policy. He has published in top journals such as The Accounting Review and the Journal of the American Taxation Association.

His recent publications examine Disney's tax conflict with Florida, audit firm performance across industries, and the economic impact of North Carolina's tax policies. These works span subfields including corporate tax strategy, state tax policy, audit effectiveness, and international taxation.
