Nathan Andrews

Nathan Andrews serves as a Banting Postdoctoral Fellow and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Queen's University, specializing in the international political economy of natural resources in Africa with particular focus on oil and gas extraction dynamics in Ghana. His academic work bridges resource governance, development policy, and corporate accountability frameworks across sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr. Andrews earned his PhD in Political Science from the University of Alberta, supported by dual prestigious fellowships. His doctoral research examined corporate social responsibility impacts on livelihoods within Ghana's mining sector, establishing foundational expertise in extractive industry governance.

His research portfolio encompasses critical intersections of resource politics and development, including socio-political dimensions of extraction, global governance mechanisms, foreign aid effectiveness, and international institutional frameworks affecting African development trajectories. Current investigations analyze Canada's developmental role in Africa's extractive sectors through corporate social responsibility lenses.
