Nathalie Bureau

Nathalie Bureau is a Full Professor at the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Medicine, Department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology, and Nuclear Medicine. She is also a clinician-scientist at the Centre de recherche du Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CRCHUM). Her research focuses on functional biomechanical imaging, tissue characterization, and therapeutic approaches for musculoskeletal disorders, with expertise in ultrasound and MRI. She holds leadership roles in organizations like the International Skeletal Society and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.

Dr. Bureau has received significant grants, including Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQS) awards for clinical research and funding from the IRSST and private institutions. She has supervised 2 master’s students and numerous residents, with many winning awards at provincial and international conferences. Her work includes over 30 peer-reviewed publications and 17 book chapters.

Awarded the Bernadette Nogrady Prize in 2004, she remains active in academic leadership and has organized major international conferences in Montreal. Current affiliations include the Québec Bioimaging Network (RBIQ) and the Adaptation-Rehabilitation Research Network (REPAR).
