Dr. Nate Benjamin serves as an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Dordt University, where he teaches courses such as Calculus II, Multivariable Calculus, Introduction to Statistics, and Modern Geometry. His academic work is rooted in discrete mathematics, particularly algebraic combinatorics, association schemes, and graph theory.
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, Iowa State University (2022)
- B.S. and B.S.Ed. in Mathematics, Kutztown University (2017)
Benjamin’s research focuses on uncovering mathematical beauty and structure through discrete mathematics, including combinatorial designs, graph coloring, and hypergraphs. His work has been published in the Journal of Integer Sequences. He actively promotes undergraduate research opportunities, emphasizing the role of mathematics in appreciating creation.
He organizes the Pizza and a Presentation Speaker series for Dordt’s Mathematics and Statistics Department and represents the Foundational Sciences division on the Athletics Committee. Outside academia, he enjoys hiking, camping, and exploring nature with his family.
