Natasja Koitzsch Jensen

Natasja Koitzsch Jensen is an Assistant Professor at the Section of Social Medicine, Department of Public Health, University of Copenhagen. She has held academic positions at the University of Copenhagen since 2010, including previous appointments as Assistant Professor (2018-2020) and multiple postdoctoral positions at the Department of Public Health and other institutions.

Dr. Jensen's research focuses on social inequality in health, welfare states, and comparative analysis of health and social policies across countries. She examines healthcare organization and its effects on access to services from a human rights perspective. Her work addresses critical issues related to population aging, health inequalities, and employment patterns among older adults.

She leads significant international research projects including THRIVE (Tackling Health Inequalities and Extending Working Lives), which examines how health inequalities affect the ability to work later in life across four countries, and SIA (Social Inequality in Ageing), a Nordic collaboration analyzing how welfare state changes impact aging populations. Her research employs diverse methodologies including policy analysis, systematic reviews, epidemiological methods, and qualitative interviews.

Dr. Jensen has extensive international research experience with stays at the University of Sydney (Australia), Harvard School of Public Health (USA), World Health Organisation (Switzerland), and fieldwork in Ethiopia and Sri Lanka.

She serves as head of two courses at the Public Health Science program: 'Social Medicine and Rehabilitation' and 'Social Medicine, Disease Prevention and Rehabilitation'.
