معرفی
Jesper Lundbye-Jensen is an Associate Professor and Head of the 'Motor Performance and Health' research group within the Integrative Physiology section at the Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports, University of Copenhagen. He also maintains an affiliation with the Department of Neuroscience at the same institution. His research focuses on the neural control of human movement, particularly examining learning processes, neural plasticity, and rehabilitation approaches.
- Ph.D. in Human Motor Control, University of Copenhagen (2010)
- M.Sc. in Human Physiology, University of Copenhagen (2002)
- Minor degree in Psychology, University of Copenhagen (2000)
- B.Sc. in Exercise & Sport Sciences, University of Copenhagen (1998)
Dr. Lundbye-Jensen's research centers on how humans learn and adapt motor skills through neural plasticity mechanisms. His work investigates the effects of strength training, immobilization, and rehabilitation on motor control systems. He employs advanced neuroimaging and electrophysiological techniques including TMS, EEG, fMRI, and EMG to study both healthy subjects and patients. His research has significant implications for optimizing rehabilitation protocols and understanding age-related changes in motor learning.
His recent publications (2025) demonstrate a strong focus on motor learning across the lifespan, neural connectivity changes during skill acquisition, and applications for neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis. The research spans multiple methodologies from behavioral assessments to advanced neuroimaging, showing particular interest in how exercise interventions affect neural plasticity and motor function in both healthy and clinical populations.
Dr. Lundbye-Jensen serves as a reviewer for numerous prestigious journals including the Journal of Neuroscience, Cerebral Cortex, and Journal of Neurophysiology, reflecting his standing in the neuroscience community.
He teaches courses in Human Physiology, Motor Learning, Neuroplasticity, Exercise Physiology, and Human Neuroscience. His laboratory, part of the Copenhagen Neural Control of Movement research group, focuses on understanding the neural mechanisms underlying motor performance and health across different populations.
