Natasha Pravaz

Dr. Natasha Pravaz serves as an Associate Professor in the Anthropology Program within the Faculty of Arts at Wilfrid Laurier University, where her work critically examines embodied cultural practices and identity politics across global contexts.

Her research focuses on:

• Anthropology of the body and sensory experience
• Gender and sexuality as social constructs
• Ritual dynamics and performative theory
• Brazilian samba as resistance and identity expression
• Hybridity, racialization, and nationalist discourses

Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, she actively supervises graduate students in anthropology and maintains an office in DAWB 2-134.
