Natasha Nemmers, Ph.D., is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Gerontology, Wayne State University. Her work focuses on functional and cognitive health of older adults at risk of social isolation, caregiving networks, and aging-in-place strategies. She leads a mixed methods study on care needs of persons living alone with cognitive impairment, funded by the Michigan Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.
- Education: Ph.D. & M.S. in Gerontology from Iowa State University (2023 & 2021); B.A. Gerontology & Psychology from University of Northern Iowa (2019)
Research uses nationally representative data like NHATS and NSOC to study dementia caregiving networks. Current projects include bridging perspectives of individuals living with cognitive impairment and their care partners. Professional affiliations include Gerontological Society of America and APA Division 20 (Adult Development and Aging).
Led training at the Leggett Dementia Family Caregiving Lab. Office located at Knapp Building #214, Detroit, MI.
