Natasha Hanners

Dr. Natasha Hanners is a physician-scientist specializing in pediatric infectious diseases and viral central nervous system infections. Her research focuses on the molecular pathogenesis of Flavivirus infections and the innate immune response to these pathogens.

• Clinical interest in pediatric patients with CNS infections

Her work investigates antiviral effects of ISGs on viruses including Venezuelan equine encephalitis (VEEV), yellow fever (YFV), West Nile (WNV), and Zika (ZIKV), with additional focus on Zika virus effects on neural progenitor cells.
