Maudry Laurent-Rolle

Dr. Maudry Laurent-Rolle is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbial Pathogenesis at Yale School of Medicine. She holds a joint appointment in the Department of Microbial Pathogenesis. Her research focuses on viral-host interactions, particularly how flaviviruses like West Nile, dengue, and yellow fever evade host immune responses. She completed her MD and PhD at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, followed by residency at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center and a fellowship at Yale.

Research Interests: Dr. Laurent-Rolle studies molecular mechanisms of viral immune evasion, including interferon signaling inhibition and mitochondrial manipulation by flaviviruses. Her work aims to identify host factors restricting viral replication and develop antiviral strategies. Recent contributions include studies on SARS-CoV-2 accessory proteins and interferon-stimulated genes as biomarkers for viral infections.

Professional Activities: Active member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, American Society for Virology, and American Medical Association. Serves on Yale's Intern Selection Committee and Microbial Pathogenesis graduate admissions committee.

Grants & Mentorship: Mentors graduate students and postdoctoral associates. Her NIH-funded research explores antiviral mechanisms and viral pathogenesis, with recent projects on mitochondrial processes in alphavirus replication.
