Natalie Hyslop

Natalie Hyslop is Professor of Biology at the University of North Georgia, specializing in wildlife ecology and conservation, particularly for herpetofauna in the southeastern United States. She leads research on Eastern Box Turtles and herpetological diseases.

Research Focus: Her investigations examine ecological factors affecting species persistence, habitat requirements for reptiles and amphibians, and conservation strategies for imperiled species like the Eastern Indigo Snake. Current projects include disease ecology studies and spatial behavior analysis of turtle populations.

Field research encompasses radio telemetry, population monitoring, and habitat assessment across Georgia ecosystems. Publications demonstrate consistent focus on reptile ecology (70%) and conservation applications (30%).
