Dr. Natalie Homer is a Senior Research Fellow and Deputy Director of the Mass Spectrometry Core at the University of Edinburgh's Centre for Cardiovascular Science. With over two decades of experience, she leads technology development in biomedical mass spectrometry within the Edinburgh Clinical Research Facility. She holds joint affiliations with the Institute for Neuroscience and Cardiovascular Research.
Her research focuses on:
- Quantitative analysis of steroid hormones in clinical and biological systems
- Development of LC-MS/GC-MS methodologies for small molecule measurement
- Metabolomics and lipidomics applications in human health and disease
- Translational research spanning preclinical, avian and veterinary studies
