Natalie DOONAN is a Professor in the Département de communication at Université de Montréal, affiliated with the Faculté des arts et des sciences. Her work bridges media arts, participatory design, and research-creation, focusing on sensory methodologies to engage public spaces and ecological issues. She holds a professorship in communication and has been actively involved in interdisciplinary projects and academic leadership roles.
Her research explores hybrid physical-virtual perception, biodiversity communication, and immersive art forms. Notable projects include Coney Island MTL and VerdunRéalité, which investigate place-based encounters through digital media. She has received grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and MITACS.
