Natalia Ransolin is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation Centre for Healthcare Resilience and Implementation Science at Macquarie University. She holds dual PhDs in Health Innovation from Macquarie University (awarded April 11, 2024) and Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil (awarded March 18, 2024). Her academic background includes a Master's in Civil Engineering from UFRGS (2019) and a Bachelor's in Architecture and Urban Planning from the same institution (2016).
Dr. Ransolin's educational journey reflects her interdisciplinary approach to healthcare and built environment research. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from UFRGS in 2016, followed by a Master's in Civil Engineering in 2019 with a focus on integrated modeling of functional and structural requirements in Complex Socio-Technical Systems. Her doctoral work spanned two institutions through a cotutelle arrangement, with her PhD in Engineering from UFRGS focusing on built environment design knowledge for resilient internal logistics in hospitals, and her PhD in Health Innovation from Macquarie University exploring similar themes within the healthcare context.

Her work focuses on Complex Socio-Technical Systems, Healthcare Resilience Engineering, and the application of the Functional Resonance Analysis Method (FRAM) to understand and improve hospital built environments. She investigates how Building Information Modelling (BIM), project management, and requirements management can contribute to more resilient healthcare facilities, particularly in areas like internal logistics, emergency departments, and surgical services.
