Natalia Forrat

Natalia Forrat is a Lecturer at the University of Michigan, affiliated with the Department of Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies and the Department of Political Science. She is associated with the Center for Russian, East European, & Eurasian Studies (CREES) and the Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia (WCEE).

Her research focuses on authoritarian regimes, civil society, and higher education systems in Russia. She examines state-society relationships, infrastructural state capacity, and the political economy of educational reforms under Putin's regime.
