Deborah Field is a Lecturer in the Department of History at the University of Michigan, affiliated with the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA). She holds positions in the Center for Russian, East European, & Eurasian Studies (CREES) and the Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia (WCEE). Field earned her PhD from the University of Michigan and previously served as a professor at Adrian College for 21 years, where she chaired the history department, co-founded the women's and gender studies program, and developed numerous courses. Her research focuses on Soviet history and gender studies, with notable publications including Private Life and Communist Morality in Khrushchev's Russia and the co-authored textbook Russia's Long Twentieth Century.
