Research Interests
Dr. Brüggemann’s research centres on Russian as a heritage language in Germany, investigating phenomena such as incomplete grammatical acquisition, lexical development, aspectual morphology, and lexicographic description. She explores multilingualism and didactics, designing curricula tailored to heritage learners and analysing task types that foster language maintenance. Additional focal areas include aspectology (the semantics and didactics of Russian aspect) and lexicography (compiling dictionaries that capture durational potential of Russian verbs).
Publication Profile
Her recent work (2019–2022) reveals a clear trajectory from theoretical linguistic analysis to applied pedagogical implementation. Studies on the stability of grammatical categories (case, number, gender) in heritage Russian feed directly into curricular guidelines, while investigations of lexical richness and prefixation inform teaching materials for secondary-school and university heritage classes. The monograph Aktionale Dauer (2010) and the co-edited volume Herkunftssprache Russisch in Deutschland (2021) anchor her reputation in both descriptive and educational domains.
