Dragana Popović is an Associate Professor at the Department of Slavic Studies within the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Novi Sad. She earned her PhD in 2016 from the same institution.

Her research focuses on pragmatics, speech acts, word formation, aspectology, and contrastive linguistics between Russian and Serbian. She has extensively studied performative verbs, speech genres, and cross-linguistic communication patterns.
Her publications (2011–2019) emphasize pragmatic-semantic analysis, contrastive linguistics, and cultural communication. Key themes include speech genres, performative verbs, and comparative studies of Slavic languages.
She has held administrative roles including Deputy Head of the Department of Slavic Studies (2012–2015) and serves on the Commission for Testing Foreign (Russian) Language Proficiency in Doctoral Studies.
