Natalia Bredrup

Natalia Bredrup is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Natural Sciences, Practical-Aesthetic, Social and Religious Studies (RES) at Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences. She specializes in Mathematics Education with a focus on integrating sustainable development goals into curricula. Her work emphasizes critical thinking development through mathematics education.

Education: Completed a Mathematics Teacher program (2002–2007) at the University of Latvia, Riga.

Research Interests: Mathematics pedagogy, teacher training methodologies, and the application of UN sustainability goals in educational frameworks. She contributes to the Education in Mathematics, Science and Technology research group.

Publications: Co-authored a chapter in Samarbeid for bærekraftig utvikling - Prosjekter i barnehage og skole (2025), exploring critical thinking through sustainability-focused mathematics projects.

Teaching Roles: Teaches mathematics subjects in Primary and Lower Secondary Teacher Education and Practical Pedagogical Education programs. Past experiences include roles as a bilingual teacher in Latvian schools and secondary mathematics instruction in Norway and Latvia.
