Dr. Nat Rutherford is a Lecturer in Political Theory at Royal Holloway, University of London, affiliated with the Department of Politics, International Relations and Philosophy. His research examines moral and political disagreements, focusing on political legitimacy, resistance, and the relationship between moral philosophy and political institutions.
Research interests include:
- Foundations of political disagreement
- Normative aspects of political institutions
- Realist approaches to political obligation
- Critical analysis of resistance movements
Rutherford contributes to the 'Social Science Impact Accelerator' project (2024-2028) and teaches courses on Classic Readings in Politics, Political Philosophy, and Social Justice.
