Dr. Nasser Khaled Altorki is a Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery and the Director of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at NewYork Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is an internationally renowned thoracic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive lung and esophageal surgery, treating complex conditions including lung cancer, esophageal cancer, and various benign chest diseases.
Dr. Altorki earned his medical degree (M.B., B.Ch.) from the University of Cairo, Faculty of Medicine in 1977. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Chicago Hospital, followed by a fellowship in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the same institution. His professional journey has led him to become a leading figure in thoracic surgical oncology.
Dr. Altorki's research focuses on cutting-edge approaches to thoracic malignancies and esophageal diseases.
