Nasrin Golshany

Dr. Nasrin Golshany is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art, Design, and Art History at California State University, Fresno, within the College of Arts and Humanities. Her research investigates the relationship between the built environment and health outcomes, focusing on healthcare design, environmental psychology, and evidence-based methodologies, particularly Human-Centric Lighting Design and age-friendly space creation.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Architecture, University of Oregon (2023)

She teaches courses including:

• ID 130: Lighting Design — Covers schematic design, reflected ceiling plans, laboratory testing, and lighting calculations. Prerequisites: ID 7, ID 70, ID 110.
• ID 7: Design Studio I — Introduces basic design concepts, drafting techniques, working drawings, codes and standards, and metric/imperial systems.

Her current research utilizes simulation and virtual reality to study immersive lighting environments and their effects on elderly populations in assisted living facilities. Dr. Golshany collaborates with interdisciplinary researchers to address health, comfort, and sustainability challenges in human ecosystems.
