Naresh Agarwal is Professor and Director of the Information Science & Tech Concentration at Simmons University's School of Library and Information Science. His research examines information behavior, knowledge management systems, and serendipitous information discovery.
Publications analyze knowledge management implementation in academic settings and information seeking behaviors of marginalized communities. Recent work addresses disinformation challenges and health informatics in South Asia. Articles demonstrate methodological diversity with qualitative and quantitative approaches to information science challenges.
Honored with ASIS&T's James M. Cretsos Leadership Award (2012), he currently serves as President of the Association for Information Science and Technology. Research integrates practical applications for libraries and information organizations.
